Following the end of the spring semester, both Emilie and Brian had moved back to their homes for the summer; Emilie moved back to Hamilton, while Brian moved to Katy. After being home for a couple of weeks, one Thursday night Emilie's family decided to go out to dinner at a local restaurant, Crossfire Cafe, at Circle T Arena. Naturally, Emilie thought nothing of it, and had no idea of what was to follow.
After arriving at the restaurant, Emilie walked through the entrance, and Brian popped out from around the corner. Emilie was quite surprised, as Brian was supposed to working the next day as an intern at Walgreens in Katy.
Emilie was then blindfolded so she wouldn't see where she was going. Brian led her up the stairs to a private room, where a circle of rose petals and candles and a dinner for two awaited them. Following dinner, Emilie was blindfolded again, and Brian led her all around the restaurant while the room was readied for the proposal. Finally, she was lead back into the circle of roses and candles, and Brian said some really sweet things and asked her to marry him. Which of course she happily responded with a yes!
We were lucky to have Heather, Brian's sister there to take pictures of the proposal, and to share the special moment with us. Soon after the proposal Emilie's family joined them for a celebration cookie cake and a few pictures.
